After attending the ECE Hui over the holidays we played the web of life game and the birds/ predator game,( photo attached) over this Term we are having a house trapping competition were each house has a week with traps. PPCC brought traps for this and families could use their own ( Photos below). The prizes for this will be given in week 1 of term 3. I took the seniors over to the Bush with the community to help clear the track and start our bush vision. While there, we decided to make kawa kawa tea and then next week make kawa kawa balm for the first aid kit. We have also planted some seeds in different types of soil and are seeing how the growing cycle goes. And started seed banking to share with other schools, libraries. I went to Pukaha with the seniors which was a great time to see there love for the environment.

While there, we fed the eels, and there were many questions, including how they taste, so the next week I got some smoked eel for them to taste. We have made a new fence and garden beds to start our garden are thank you to Lyn and Phil Barnett for their kind donation of half the material for the beds. We have such a great community behind us. We also did soap carving for martariki. This was a great day run by the school with a lovely Hangi lunch and heaps of different activities.
