Wainui Catchment

The Wainui Catchment group brings together local farmers and community members working to better understand and improve the health of their waterways, land and biodiversity. Through collaboration, monitoring and practical on-farm initiatives, the group is building knowledge about their environment and taking steps to protect it for future generations.

Our catchment

The Wainui Catchment is located within the wider Puketoi to the Pacific Catchment Collective area in the Tararua District, draining east toward the Pacific coast.

As part of the Collective, the group connects with neighbouring catchments to share learning, resources and ideas that support resilient farming systems and healthy waterways across the region.
